About Columbia

Columbia, South Carolina, was established in 1786. Its location on three rivers was considered to be important to the region and to the state’s economic growth and development. The city eventually became home to the state capital and is the largest city in South Carolina.

Popular destinations in Columbia include The Vista, the South Carolina State House, South Carolina State Museum, Edventure Children’s Museum, shows at the Colonial Life Arena and the Koger Center for the Arts, Riverbanks Zoo and Garden and Congaree National Park.
